Please be very wary of low cost 18650 batteries being sold online and at some battery specialty stores, as most are selling Grade B cells (cells that under-perform manufacturer specs or have defects) or, even worse, Grade C cells (used, repackaged, salvaged and/or damaged cells). The majority of lithium ion batteries for sale are counterfeit, fake and potentially dangerous. To be safe, only purchase Grade A batteries from reputable manufacturers. Off market brand 18650 batteries claiming to be “4000mAh,” “5000mAh” or even higher are not and quite simply cannot technically be what they are claimed to be.
