Description
This is a Grade A 3.7v, 10A, 2600mAh MF Tactical brand 18650 sized Extended Capacity rechargeable lithium ion battery with a built-in protection circuit that permits current draw up to 10A. Please be very wary of low cost 18650 batteries being sold online and at some battery specialty stores, as most are selling Grade B cells (cells that under-perform manufacturer specs or have defects) or, even worse, Grade C cells (used, repackaged, salvaged and/or damaged cells). The majority of all lithium ion batteries for sale are counterfeit, fake and potentially dangerous. To be safe, only purchase Grade A batteries from reputable manufacturers. MF Tactical sells only Grade A cells.
Most lower quality 18650 batteries’ protection circuit boards (PCBs) on the market do not permit a current draw of 10A. As high end flashlights, particularly multi-battery flashlights, often need this higher current to operate reliably at the high end of their performance window, you can be assured that MF Tactical batteries will always meet the needs of our high performance tactical LED flashlights that require a power draw up to 10A.
We have been retailers of li-ion batteries since we got started in the flashlight business. After initially putting up with the spotty quality of the 18650 batteries available to us on the market, including duds and inconsistent performance from battery to battery, we decided that the old adage is right: “If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself!” So we went to the manufacturer of the finest li-ion cells and worked with them to design and produce the best quality, highest performing 18650 rechargeable li-ion batteries, optimized for use in high power tactical LED flashlights. That is how MF Tactical batteries got started and why our customers now get the most powerful, highest quality and most reliable batteries available to power their state-of-the art MF Tactical flashlight.
The MF Tactical 10A Extended Capacity battery is a TRUE 2600 mAh battery that will outperform and outlast batteries claiming to be 4000 mAh or higher. Hyped up capacity claims on labels is the game that many manufacturers are playing with the public, and we simply will not play that game. Off market brand 18650 batteries claiming to be “4000mAh,” “5000mAh” or even higher are not and quite simply cannot technically be what they are claimed to be. We have done our own testing, and we learned that nearly all of the 18650 batteries on the market are in fact falsely labeled, and most are in fact storing less than 2000mAh, regardless of the pretty labels! We hope you will know that the five dollar “5000mAh” batteries on eBay and Amazon are “too good to be true.”
What sets 18650 li-ion batteries apart from standard household batteries, like AA and AAA, is voltage: these are 3.7 volt batteries, which make your high tech LED flashlight run much brighter than you could ever expect with the ordinary 1.5 volts you get in a household batteries. Do a comparison and you will see for yourself how these batteries are one of the secrets of how we are able to make MF Tactical flashlights so bright.
If you have read our web site or heard about us online, you know that we are flashlight freaks! That’s why we have spent time researching the science of li-ion battery technology so that you can run your MF Tactical flashlight on the best possible battery to get the most out of your light. Now that we control the battery making process, we can insure that you get the best possible battery at the lowest possible price.
