This is a fully automatic digital electronic battery charger with automatic overcharge and reversed polarity protection that independently and simultaneously detects, charges and monitors up to 4 batteries of different types and sizes. If love the flashlights and batteries you must purchase this charger – it is a MUST HAVE! The $42.99 is an Outstanding price, I purchased a BT-C3400 Universal Battery Charger from Amazon for $53 with far less performance. The feature I love the most is the LCD digital display that shows voltage and current levels and battery charging progress by mAh charged and that I when finished the channel indicator lights GREEN. This lets you know that your batteries are fully charged.

While the cheaper Intellicharger is all that many users might need, the versatility of power sources (including USB) of the XTAR makes it unique among the MF choices. Also the blue-lit simulated analog display is both informative, and totally cool. Keep everything in the supplied pouch, keep it handy, and keep your lights at peak performance. If you go dark, it’s your fault.

Received my XTAR VC4 this afternoon and immediately put it to work charging the new ultra capacity 3400 mah li-ions. The display is easy to read when charging and gets brighter when you select which port to view. Only two ports are displayed and there’s a select button in the middle of the unit that lets you step through all the ports if charging more than two batteries. The display shows mah going in and actual cell voltage while charging. There is also a display showing input current to the charger. You can charge NIMH batteries and LI-ION batteries at the same time since each port is discrete. This is the charger to get if you’d rather have useful charging info as opposed to blinking leds.
